Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Glasgow – Annual Convocation & Installation
On Monday 12th October 2026, the Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Glasgow held its Annual Convocation and Installation of Elective Office-Bearers.The Grand Superintendent, MEC Gary D. Smith, extends his sincere thanks to all Companions for their attendance and support, which helped make the evening such a memorable occasion.
The Convocation was further enhanced by the presence of a large deputation from our Sister Provinces, and we were delighted to welcome the following Grand Superintendents:
•MEC David Lessels – Grand Superintendent of Fife & Kinross
•MEC Dr Kevin Pollock – Grand Superintendent of Renfrewshire
•MEC Walter Archibald – Grand Superintendent of Mid & East Lothian
•MEC Colin Johnstone – Grand Superintendent of Dumfriesshire
We were also honoured by the attendance of the Heads of other Orders, or their representatives:

Glasgow Sovereign Council No. 43 – 50th Anniversary Dinner Celebration
The Grand Superintendent, MEC Gary D. Smith, in his capacity as Sovereign Grand Commander, wishes to extend his sincere thanks to all the Royal Arch Companions who attended the 50th Anniversary Dinner of Glasgow Sovereign Council No. 43.
A special mention goes to MEC Jim Orr, Grand Secretary; MEC Robert McFarlane, Grand Treasurer; MEC David Morrison, Immediate Past Grand Commander; MEC John N. HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
Our sincere congratulations to the Grand Superintendent, MEC Gary D. Smith, who was presented with Honorary Membership of The Prince’s Royal Arch Chapter No. 189 earlier this evening at their Annual Installation Meeting.
The Prince’s Royal Arch Chapter No. 189 – Installation
On Tuesday 6th October 2026, The Grand Superintendent, MEC Gary D. Smith had the pleasure of attending the Installation of The Prince’s Royal Arch Chapter No. 189.
The Grand Superintendent was accompanied by MEC John N. Steel, Depute First Grand Principal of Scotland and EC Graeme Cameron, P.G. Director of Ceremonies.
During the evening, MEC Charles Gilmour was re-installed into the office of First Principal for the forthcoming year, along with MEC Allan Pike as Second Principal, MEC Neil Hunter as Third Principal & their team of Office Bearers.
A very enjoyable evening was had by all in attendance, and the Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Glasgow wishes Charles and all his Office Bearers every success, health and enjoyment for the year ahead.
Shamrock & Thistle Royal Arch Chapter No. 87 – Installation
On Friday 25th September, The Grand Superintendent, MEC Gary D. Smith had the pleasure of attending the Installation of Shamrock & Thistle Royal Arch Chapter No. 87.
During the evening, MEC David Thomson was installed into the office of First Principal for the forthcoming year, along with his team of Office Bearers.
A very enjoyable evening was had by all in attendance, and the Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Glasgow wishes David and all his Office Bearers every success, health and enjoyment for the year ahead.
Partick Lodge and Council No. 113 – Installation
On Wednesday 23rd September 2026, EC Edward A. Woods, Provincial Grand Scribe N, had the pleasure of attending the Installation of Partick Lodge and Council No. 113.
During the evening, Graeme Cameron was installed into the office of WCN & MEC for the forthcoming year, along with his team of Office Bearers by David Morrison PWCN & MEC.
A very enjoyable evening was had by all in attendance, and the Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Glasgow wishes Graeme and all his Office Bearers every success, health and enjoyment for the year ahead.
